Description
Vitanec LC is used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It is used to treat and prevent folate deficiency and vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitanec LC effectively treats various conditions caused due to lack of vitamins, such as anaemia (lack of red blood cells), peripheral neuropathy (nerve disorder), seizures (fits), hyperoxaluria (excess oxalate levels in urine), homocystinuria (accumulation of an amino acid called homocysteine in urine and blood), cyanide poisoning and hyperhomocysteinemia (high levels of homocysteine in the blood).
Vitanec LC contains Folic acid, L-carnitine, and Methylcobalamin. Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats low blood levels of folate (folate deficiency) and high blood levels of amino acid, homocysteine (hyperhomocysteinemia). L-Carnitine is a type of amino acid that is naturally produced by the body. It is used by the body to produce energy and is important for the health of the heart, brain, muscles, and other body parts. Methylcobalamin regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis.
Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Vitanec LC may cause common side effects like nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, drowsiness, flushing, and numbness/tingling. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time.
Let your doctor know if you are using other drugs, and herbal products before starting Vitanec LC. If you are known to be allergic to Vitanec LC or its inactive components, please inform your doctor. Vitamins are absorbed readily through oral administration. Please tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food). The dosage form may be changed to intravenous administration of individual vitamins for better absorption of Vitanec LC. If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding mother, please consult your doctor before taking Vitanec LC.

FAQ
How does Vitanec LC work?
Vitanec LC is a vitamin supplement and consists of Folic acid, L-carnitine and Methylcobalamin (vitamin B12). When you lack these vitamins in your body, which cannot be recovered even with the food sources, Vitanec LC helps in normalising these deficient levels. Collectively, Vitanec LC treats nutritional deficiencies.
How to treat my Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency is caused when you don’t have enough Methylcobalamine or Mecobalmin levels in your body. You can include natural Vitamin B12 sources like eggs, beef, liver, chicken, trout, salmon, tuna fish, clams, fortified breakfast cereal, low-fat milk, yoghurt, and cheese in your diet for treating the deficiency. If you still have low levels of B12, please consult your doctor for its supplements.
How can I manage Folic acid/folate deficiency?
Folate deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate folic acid/folate levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in folic acid like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, liver (avoid this during pregnancy) and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid. If your folic acid levels are still low, your doctor may advise its supplements.
Should I take any precautions before using Vitanec LC?
It is important to tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food) since it may be hard to absorb vitamins through oral administration. Your doctor may advise other dosage forms of Vitanec LC in such a case.
What happens if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage.
